How to Get Sling TV for Free for 2 Months (Verizon Customers)

Verizon wireless, Fios and 5G Home internet customers can currently get two months of Sling TV for free when signing up. Here’s how.

Verizon has launched a new promotion that offers new and existing customers two months of Sling TV for free. Although Sling TV is not an expensive live TV service in general, this can be a good way to test out live TV streaming and check whether Sling TV is the right service before having to pay the usual monthly cost.

Sling TV has been around for some time now and over the years has built up a subscriber base of over two million. One of its major selling points is the price. Compared to other live TV streaming services, Sling TV plans start at $35 per month, making it a good option for those looking for an affordable live TV service.

Verizon is now offering customers the option to sign up and get two months of Sling TV for free. The deal applies to both Sling Blue and Sling Orange plans. Alternatively, Verizon customers can opt for two months of one of the Sling International services or get three months of Sling Latino for free instead. Regardless of the exact option selected, the promotion results in savings of up to $35 per month.

Generally speaking, there are no major limitations or restrictions with the deal, other than the need to be a Verizon customer. The free Sling TV promotion is live now and will remain available up until February 19, 2022. Once the promotion has been redeemed through Verizon, the customer will have 60 days to fully redeem the deal by setting up and activating a Sling TV account.

How to get Sling TV for free

Verizon is offering the deal to its wireless, Fios and 5G Home internet customers. However, the exact method of applying the promotion varies, depending on whether a Fios customer or not. If a wireless cellular or 5G home internet customer, then to get two months of Sling TV for free requires downloading the My Verizon app.

Verizon wireless and 5G Home instructions:

  1. Open My Verizon app
  2. Sign in
  3. Scroll down and tap on Sling TV
  4. Tap on Go to Sling TV.
  5. Select a plan
  6. Create a Sling account.
  7. Add an email address and payment method

Once complete, the Verizon customer will receive an email from Sling TV, confirming the account creation and the ability to watch live TV. If a Fios customer, then the user will need to add the promotion via their Fios account.

Verizon Fios instructions:

  1. Visit My Verizon
  2. Sign in
  3. Click on Account
  4. Click on Plan Overview
  5. Select Add Live TV (or Add Streaming Video for existing Fios TV customers)
  6. Click on Sling TV
  7. Scroll to the bottom
  8. Click Checkout

Alternatively, Fios customers can also add the free Sling TV deal through the My Fios app. To do this, launch the app, swipe the banner at the top of the screen and then tap on Sling TV when shown. Scroll to the bottom and tap on Go to Sling TV. Select a service, create an account, and add an email and payment method.

Regardless of the method used to sign up, it is worth keeping in mind that the free promotion only applies to the base subscription. In other words, if a Verizon customer adds any additional add-ons, premium networks or channel packs when signing up, they will have to pay for those during the free period. In addition, automatic billing is in effect. Therefore, Verizon customers will want to make sure they cancel their subscription before the free two-month period comes to an end, if they want to avoid the subscription automatically converting to a paid subscription and being charged the normal monthly Sling TV rate.
