Philo as a TV Provider: Apps Subscribers Can Use for Free

Philo subscribers can use their login details to watch live TV and on demand videos directly through a number of channel apps and websites.

Philo TV Everywhere support allows subscribers to watch additional content, including live TV, directly through a variety of channel apps and websites. However, not all live TV channels available with a Philo subscription are automatically eligible for TV Everywhere. Therefore, subscribers will need to check if an individual channel is supported before attempting to sign in.

Philo is a good option for any individuals and households looking for an affordable live TV streaming service. Although it has recently encountered a price increase, a standard subscription costs just $25 per month, making it cheaper than many other live TV services, including fuboTV, Hulu Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV.

As to be expected, the cheaper price does mean some channels are missing compared to other services. However, with the channel lineup providing access to more than 60 live TV channels there is a good and varied selection overall. Besides the channels, Philo also comes with some additional features and benefits, including an unlimited cloud DVR and TV Everywhere support.

In addition to watching live TV and on demand content directly through the Philo app, subscribers can also use third-party apps as well.

The list above does not include every channel available with a live TV subscription, as not all of the channels are eligible for TV Everywhere. Any channels not listed above currently do not support TV Everywhere through Philo. In addition, the channels listed are simply the ones that are supported in general. Subscribers may still find that some of the channel apps are not currently available on their preferred platforms and devices.

How TV Everywhere works

TV Everywhere allows subscribers to a live TV service to access additional content directly through other apps. This feature does not cost anything more and only requires the subscriber’s login details. For example, to watch Discovery, Philo subscribers just need to head over to the Discovery website or download the app on their preferred devices and then use their Philo phone number to authenticate their live TV subscription.

While much of the content available through these third-party channels is available directly within the Philo app, there are some reasons why it is worth utilizing TV Everywhere. For example if Philo doesn’t offer enough simultaneous streams for everyone sharing a subscription, TV Everywhere makes it possible to stream channels without consuming any of those Philo streams.

Another benefit example is device support. Just like some of the channel apps might not be available on certain platforms and devices, Philo also has its own device support limitations. Due to this, subscribers may find that with TV Everywhere support they are able to access their favorite channels on devices they might not be able to otherwise.

Philo TV Everywhere summary

Like many other live TV streaming services, Philo provides subscribers with support for TV Everywhere. By using this feature, subscribers have the option to watch live TV and on demand content directly through a number of third-party apps and websites using just their Philo login information.

However, not all of the channels included with a Philo subscription are automatically eligible for TV Everywhere, with Philo currently offering support for a little over half of the channels. It is not uncommon for channels to be added to a TV Everywhere list, so any missing Philo channels could gain support in the future.
