Hulu + Live TV is one of the newer live TV streaming services. It is also one that has grown in popularity quickly thanks to its emphasis on both live and on-demand content. However, if you’re looking for a live TV service specifically, then the only question you should care about is what channels do you get with Hulu live TV?

That’s a question we aim to shed some light on in this guide.

Here you will find a complete and up to date list of all of the channels you get with a Hulu live TV subscription. In addition, you’ll also find information on the cost of signing up to Hulu + Live TV, as well as suggestions for alternative services to consider.

All of the information here is designed to make sure you have a fuller understanding of what you can expect with a Hulu + Live TV subscription.

What is Hulu + Live TV?

Hulu + Live TV is one of the most self-explanatory names of any streaming service. It is, Hulu plus live TV.

Hulu + Live TV is not different to Hulu’s standard subscription. Instead, it is that same standard subscription but with live TV access thrown in as well.

This is one of the major differences between Hulu + Live TV and other live TV streaming services as here you are getting a popular streaming service as well as live TV streaming.

For that reason, Hulu + Live TV has become a very popular live TV streaming service in the U.S.

How many live TV plans are there?

Technically, Hulu + Live TV only offers one plan.

However, it has two variations of the plan with the difference being ads.

Irrespective of which variant you chose, the live TV section of the service cannot and doesn’t escape ads. After all, if you’re watching a live broadcast then you’re going to see ads.

The difference between the “No Ads’ version and the ads version is that you won’t have to put up with ads when you are watching content from the Hulu standard subscription.

For clarity, Hulu does disclose that even with the ad-free version, you still might occasionally encounter ads. This is due to contractual obligations Hulu has with the rights owners of select TV shows and movies.

How much is Hulu + Live TV?

The standard Hulu + Live TV subscription currently costs $44.99 per month.

Those opting for the ad-free version will pay $50.99 per month.

However, Hulu has already confirmed its live TV service is getting a price increase. The rise is due to take effect from December 18 at which point the standard Hulu + Live TV subscription will cost $54.99 per month.

As to be expected, the No Ads version will rise accordingly, bringing the total up to $60.99 per month.

Again, these costs do include the Hulu standard subscription. On its own, the standard subscription costs $5.99 per month for the ad-supported version and $11.99 per month for the No Ads version.

If you were to sign up to another live TV streaming service instead, and wanted a Hulu subscription, you would have to add the $5.99/$11.99 per month price to the competing subscription before you could make a realistic comparison to these inclusive prices.

Hulu + Live TV channels

One of the big selling points with Hulu + Live TV is that it does come with more than just the live TV access. The standard Hulu subscription does give subscribers access to a large catalog of TV shows and movies. In this sense, it is similar to Netflix.

However, its live TV section is also fairly impressive. For example, Hulu states it offers live and on-demand content from more than 60 channels.

Best Hulu + Live TV alternatives

Hulu + Live TV is most certainly a content-first service.

Not only do you get a very good selection of live TV channels as well as access to on-demand content from those same channels, but you also get access to the whole of the Hulu standard subscription catalog.

This, all together for one price, makes Hulu + Live TV a very attractive live TV streaming service.

Of course, with the most recent price rise it is now a little less attractive. What’s more, if you’re not actually in need of a Hulu standard subscription then you will likely save more money or get access to more live TV channels by opting for a different service altogether.

Starz costs $8.99 per month through Hulu. Right now there’s a Hulu promotion where you can add Starz for $4.99 per month for the first six months, but that ends in a couple of weeks. Otherwise, it is $8.99 per month.

If you’re thinking about getting Starz TODAY then this flash sale – is the best deal right now. Although it won’t be integrated within the Hulu app as a channel if that’s what you’re looking for.
