It is fairly easy to cancel a Paramount+ subscription but how to do it will depend on the device used and whether the subscription was created through ViacomCBS or through another service. Understanding these two points will ensure a Paramount+ subscription ends when it should and the consumer is not paying more than they need to.

Paramount+ launched in March, offering consumers a way to stream a variety of shows and movies from the ViacomCBS archives. In fact, the service didn’t exactly launch in the traditional sense, as it was previously CBS All Access. Instead all apps and accounts simply became Paramount+ apps and accounts overnight. Due to this, existing subscribers should not find it any more difficult to cancel than they would have CBS All Access.

With plans starting at just $4.99 per month, Paramount+ is a great option for anyone interested in streaming BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon or Smithsonian Channel content. However, if it is not the right service for you, then regardless of the reason or the device, here’s how to cancel a Paramount+ subscription.

How to cancel Paramount+ directly

The exact instructions for canceling a Paramount+ subscription do vary somewhat by device. More specifically, whether canceling through Paramount+ or through another service. For any subscribers wanting to cancel Paramount+ directly and through a laptop, desktop, or mobile browser, follow the instructions below.

Canceling Paramount+ via browser:

  1. Visit Paramount+
  2. Sign in
  3. Click/tap on profile icon (top right)
  4. Click/tap on “Account”
  5. Scroll down and click/tap “Cancel subscription”

Follow the onscreen instructions to confirm and fully cancel the Paramount+ subscription.

Canceling Paramount+ through another service

Besides the option to sign up to Paramount+ directly, there are a number of additional ways to subscribe. While these other options can make it easier to manage a subscription in general, it does make the act of canceling a little different. The main point to be aware of is the service used to sign up to Paramount+ is the service used to cancel Paramount+. This applies whether it is through Amazon, Apple, Google, or Roku.

Cancel Paramount+ on Fire TV:

If subscribed to Paramount+ on an Amazon Fire TV device, then canceling the subscription will need to take place through the Amazon website and not directly on the device.

  1. Visit Amazon’s “Memberships and Subscriptions
  2. Sign in
  3. Find Paramount+ in the list
  4. Click/tap on “Manage Subscription”
  5. Select “Cancel Channel”

If subscribed to Paramount+ through Apple, then canceling the subscription is not any different to canceling any other subscription, and can be done on an iPhone, iPad or through Apple TV by accessing the Settings app.

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap on name
  3. Tap on “Subscriptions”
  4. Select Paramount+
  5. Tap on “Cancel Subscription”

Canceling through Apple TV devices works largely the same way although subscribers will need to tap on “Select Users & Accounts” and select an account before tapping on “Subscriptions.”

Cancel Paramount+ on Android:

If a Paramount+ subscription was started on an Android device, the subscriber will need to cancel the subscription through the Google Play Store by following the instructions below.

  • Visit Google Play Subscriptions
  • Select Paramount+ from the list
  • Click/Tap on “Manage”
  • Click/tap on “Cancel subscription”

The above instructions apply to both mobile and desktop when using a browser. However, Android device owners can also quickly and easily cancel Paramount+ through the Google Play app.

  • Open Google Play
  • Tap on three-dot menu (upper left)
  • Tap on “Subscriptions”
  • Select Paramount+
  • Tap on “Cancel subscription”

Regardless of whether canceling through a browser or the app, follow the on screen instructions to confirm and complete the cancel request through Google.

Cancel Paramount+ on Roku:

As is the case with the other services, if a Paramount+ subscription was created on a Roku device, then it will also need to be canceled through Roku. However, unlike Fire TV, this can be easily done directly on the Roku player or Roku TV.

  • Head to the home screen
  • Navigate to the Paramount+ channel
  • Press “*” on the remote
  • Select “Manage Subscription”
  • Select “Cancel Subscription”
  • Confirm the cancelation.

Cancel Paramount+ on other devices:

Besides Amazon, Apple, Android, and Roku devices, Paramount+ is available on a number of other devices as well, including game consoles and smart TVs. However, any subscription created through any of these apps is made though ViacomCBS directly.

As a result, subscribers using any of these devices, including LG and Samsung TVs will need to use the “directly” method mentioned above to cancel their Paramount+ subscription.

Cancel Paramount+ subscription summary

Paramount+ can be canceled easily and quickly, but how will depend on how the subscription was created to begin with. Whether having signed up to Paramount+ directly through ViacomCBS, Amazon, Apple, Google, or Roku, the subscription will need to be canceled through the same service. For Android, iOS and Roku device users, this can usually be done via the web or directly on the device. However, direct and Fire TV users will need to cancel through the Paramount+ and Amazon website, respectively.

Although Paramount+ can be subscribed to on a number of other devices, those subscriptions were created directly through ViacomCBS. Due to this, those subscriptions will need to be canceled through the Paramount+ website.
